Weather notes report high temperatures for Wednesday and overnight lows in the 40s to 50s with potential precipitation. Hospital spokesmen said she was admitted for a medical workup and was in satisfactory condition. Jack Scott 33 attributed his mother’s collapse to ongoing FBI pressure and said agents questioned his parents multiple times seeking cooperation in the search for the fugitive heiress.
Argentine President Isabel Peron will take a 40 day leave of absence for health reasons and hand over executive power to Senate President Italo Luder, according to government sources. No official confirmation yet, reports say she will recover at a home in the country.

The U S department of labor sues Clinton Engines Corp of Maquoketa in Cedar Rapids federal court alleging sex discrimination under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Since Sept 2 1972 the firm allegedly paid women lower wages for work comparable to men. The government seeks a permanent injunction and back pay for affected employees.
Steven W. Clingen, 22, of Monroe, was charged with traffic driving after Linn County deputies arrested him early Thursday for speeding on Highway 149 north of Fairfax. He remained in county jail in lieu of bond.
Duane A. McVay of Oxford Junction, 37, remained in serious condition at University Hospitals Iowa City after his logging truck lost brakes and collided with a straight truck on the Ivanhoe bridge south of Mt. Vernon. McVay suffered second and third degree burns over 44 percent of his body as a gas tank exploded.
Four people were arrested after a disturbance outside the Mirror Lommer tavern at 912 First Avenue NW. Two officers suffered minor injuries. Schumacher, Candler, Peyton faced multiple charges including intoxication and resisting an officer. Knapp was later detained for refusing to disperse.
The administration seeks a windfall tax on oil companies with a six cent per gallon rebate to farmers and other consumers. It urges Congress to end price controls on natural gas, proposes safeguards for independent refiners and small stations, and adds steps to prevent a gas shortage by allowing higher unregulated gas prices, fuel switching, and propane gas price control during shortages.
Senators Dick Clark and John Culver of Iowa urged a compromise between Congress and the White House on oil price controls. Clark called the veto override defeat a setback for consumers and warned of further price hikes and inflation. The Linn County cases show Steve Ramey, 23, Cedar Rapids, given two concurrent sentences of one year in jail for breaking and entering and assault with intent to inflict great bodily harm. He faced a burglary on Oct. 11, 1974, in a southwest Cedar Rapids garage, and an assault charge tied to a beer theft near a southeast Cedar Rapids tavern. Jeffry M. Wise, 20, Cedar Rapids, received a deferred sentence to erase a larceny conviction if he stays on probation after pleading guilty to theft of coins from parking meters in Cedar Rapids on or around April 24.
The Beyer park 200 acquires three three year old male leopards from the Des Moines zoo. Parks Superintendent Elmer Delaney says the city plans to use one or two of the males as trading stock to obtain a female leopard.
Reports detail two bicycle and vehicle collisions on Wednesday and Thursday. Rickey E. Parsons, 17, of 1712 J Avenue NE, in poor condition at St Luke's with a possible head injury after a vehicle struck him on Elm Hurst Drive NE near K Avenue. The driver, Jane Ellen Gilmor, 28, of 1637 F Avenue NE, was not charged. In a second incident, Jerry A. Rippey, 27, of 937 Daniels Street NE, suffered minor foot and knee injuries in a motorcycle crash at Eighth Street NW and Caverns NW when Earl Henry McGregor, 42, of Vinton, attempted a left turn. McGregor was charged with failure to yield.
A Tama county district court suit seeks 15000 in damages from Kevin Ferguson of Mt. Vernon and Peter Guither of Le Claire. Richard Selken and Richard Cerin say Ferguson, driving a Guither car, rear ended a southbound tractor and baler on highway 21 June 13, causing property damage, lost earnings and loss of baler use. They allege negligent lookout, loss of control, excessive speed, unsafe passing, tailing, and drinking prior to the crash.
Ottawa reports Canada's unemployment rose 0.1 point in August to 7.3 percent, extending a long rising trend since 1961. The government noted the rate shift amid ongoing labor market pressure and varied regional outcomes.
