DES MOINES George A. Wilson 69 former Iowa Republican leader who steered the party back into the statehouse in 1939 died at 10 10 pm Tuesday in a Des Moines hospital. His death followed a malignant throat tumor recurrence after operations in 1944. Funeral services set for 11 am Friday at Hamilton funeral home in Des Moines with burial in Masonic cemetery. Gov Beardsley ordered the statehouse flag flown at half staff until after the funeral.
