Secret probe into Perry high school shooting remains sealed
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation findings from the Perry High School attack eight months ago are not being released by Dallas County Attorney Jeannine Ritchie. Local leaders and teachers urge transparency while Ritchie cites investigative secrecy. The Jan. 4, 17 year old Dylan Butler shooting left an 11 year old student dead and the principal fatally wounded. Butler died by suicide after wounding others. The Perry Education Association and city officials seek details to answer community questions and prevent future tragedies.
