Oak Ridge Estates Cuts Deep Into Cedar Rapids Woods
Cedar Rapids neighbors, a developer, and Streets Commissioner Don Thomas clash over Oak Ridge Estates along Pioneer Avenue SE. Regency Builders says city street requirements forced tree removal and earthwork, while critics call the loss devastation to a premier urban wood. The dispute centers on widening Pioneer Avenue SE and potential East Post Road extension, with calls for a variance to save steeper grades and more trees.
