Frost Free Harvest Odds Improve For Corn And Soybeans
Government analysts say farmers have a good chance of frost free conditions in September through November aiding harvests. A USDA Commerce Department bulletin notes last year’s late plantings and early freezes reduced production, but this year most corn and soybeans were planted on time and mature earlier. Rainfall maps show above normal September precipitation in most regions including the western Corn Belt.
