Watergate Hearings Boost Public TV Fund Drive in Seattle
In Seattle KCTS general manager Dr. Richart Meyer boosted public broadcasting by linking viewer donations to Watergate coverage. The station signed 10,000 members as fund-raising surged, aided by NET programming and previews of Bergman films. Meyer expanded staff and secured collaborations with KIRO and other outlets to keep Channel 9 operations vibrant amid funding pressures.
