Flood survivors rebuild Cedar Crest Manufacturing in Norwood
After the 2008 flood devastated their 1924 home at 1732 Ellis Blvd NW and forced Norwood Souvenir plant closures, Jackie and Kevin Kepros rebuilt to spend time relaxing. They start Cedar Crest Manufacturing with nine former Norwood workers, investing $55,000 in renovations, upgrading to 200 amp service, and adding granite countertops. They secured $28,000 from FEMA and $8,000 from Jump-start, plus personal sweat equity, while adjusting plans for the basement and future steps.
