Lottery approves new online gaming system contract
Des Moines reports that Scientific Gaming won preliminary approval for a ten year online gaming contract with the Iowa Lottery worth 50.3 million dollars. The deal would upgrade terminals for 2 500 vendors and may allow dispensing fishing licenses and fair tickets. The board cited a bid edge over Intralot and G Tech and expects a July start after background checks and final agreement. The state could save about 1 million dollars annually and up to 10 million over the contract.
