Ted Heimann and Gretel Kossatz, both natives of Germany aged 26, wed at Zion Lutheran Church in Clayton Center after years of separation. Sponsored to the United States in 1946, Heimann settled in Clayton Center then Elkader, becoming a mechanic and carpenter while awaiting Gretel’s arrival amid immigration delays. The ceremony, in German, was led by Rev. Zerhusen, with friends from the area in attendance.

School Bus Service To Be Expanded In Iowa
DES MOINES AP School bus service will expand for the new academic year with five more districts gaining service Cresco Plaine Marengo Neola and all plus about 200 more buses bringing the total to around 3500.
