Posthumously conceived daughter denied Social Security benefits
An 8th Circuit ruling upheld a lower court decision denying Social Security benefits to Patti Beeler s daughter, born July 2002 after her father Bruce Beeler died in May 2001. The court held state inheritance law did not allow her to be considered the father’s natural child.
