Democrat challenges Collins in Iowa House District 95
Jeff Poulter, a 65 year old retired UPS driver from Middletown, challenges Rep. Taylor Collins, a 28 year old Mediapolis Republican, in Iowa House District 95 which covers Louisa County and rural areas of Des Moines Henry and Muscatine counties. The race centers on abortion restrictions, private school funding, education agencies and property taxes. Poulter seeks constitutional amendment on abortion and opposes the tuition program while Collins defends the law and backing for Medicaid expansion for new mothers. The two met in Mediapolis for a candidate forum.
