In a recent interview Forst said capital punishment does not deter homicide. He noted states that ended the death penalty saw smaller homicide-rate increases than those without executions. Memphis doctor Dr E Eric Muirhead says the Presley autopsy does not support the Shelby County medical examiner's ruling that hypertensive heart disease caused the singer's death. Dr Muirhead questions whether a heart ailment could be the sole cause and notes drugs did not cause death.
