Marion Indians dominate Maquoketa 16-0 in a Wa mac conference game to rise to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in league play led by Tom Borst's two rushing TDs and two point conversions by Troy Hames and Bob Lane. Linn-Mar defeats LaSalle 34-8 as Gary Riley scores four times. Lions sign Bob Picard, adding a veteran receiver to travel to Seattle.

Crestwood Pounds Decorah 35 8 in big win

Crestwood pounded Decorah 35-8 as Cresco's Jim Klingle ran for four touchdowns from 58, 49, 6, and 2 yards and Mark Henry added a 55-yard scoring play. Decorah’s lone touchdown came on a one-yard plunge by Loren Wicks.

Western Dubuque Tops Beckman 13 6 in Iowan Friday Night

Western Dubuque beat Beckman 13-6 as Tim Breitbach recovered a Beckman fumble for a safety in the early second quarter. Beckman trailed 13-0 at halftime, scored late on a Kevin Lenane one yard run, while outgained 188 to 108 and had 13 first downs to six for the visitors. Western Dubuque improved to 6-1, with Pat Boerkenstedt opening the scoring in the first quarter on a one-yard run.

East Buchanan Edges Alburnett 15 14 for Tri Rivers Upset

In a Tri Rivers clash East Buchanan overcame Alburnett 15 14 as John Crocks kicked the deciding extra point after a late fourth quarter touchdown. Dolan scored the winner after Crashal tied the game on a 20 yard pass from Dolan. Greg Smith rushed 220 yards for Alburnett. East Buchanan stands 3 3 in conference.

Preston marked a 14 6 victory over Midland with Mark Aker scoring on runs of three and four yards and a two point run. Lenny Mais touched down Midland’s lone score on a three yard run. Both teams moved to 3 4 in conference play. Tom Turner had two touchdowns for Marion sophomores in a 28 10 win over Maquoketa.

Mid-Prairie Stays Unbeaten With 30-0 Win

Senior Kevin Kos surpassed 3000 rushing yards as Mid-Prairie, now 7-0 in the Eastern Iowa Hawkeye league and 7-0 overall, blanked Wilton 30-0.
