Proposed Iowa voting law may raise registration problems
Iowa voters face possible registration loss under a senate bill passed in 1969 and awaiting House action in 1970. About 300,000 Iowans vote only in presidential years, while mobile registration could be abolished, hindering elderly workers students and service members from establishing residency. The Linn County Democratic central committee discussed the issue at Farmers State Bank in Hiawatha and set a December joint meeting to finalize by laws and appoint associate precinct leaders Ginny Blair and Mike Froehle.
