Area Ten Board urged to act on school curriculum expansion
Area Ten Community College superintendent Selby Ballantyne urged the board to accelerate vocational program expansion. He faulted board policy requiring lengthy industry and public need studies, advisory committees, and multiple research steps, saying it delays 1968 and 1969 course launches and hurts local post secondary opportunity for high school graduates. He pressed for approval of 20 proposed new vocational courses and cited state roadblocks and accreditation plans with the NCA. The board also approved lease and facilities actions and prepared a tour to St. Louis to study liberal arts building design.
