Woman Injured Bull Killed In Highway Crash
A Marion woman Mrs Ralph Langhoff Jr was injured and a prize Angus bull Wayside Bardoliermere owned by Milo Wolrab was killed when a gate broke and a herd entered Highway 261 south of Mt. Vernon. Langhoff's car wrecked. Mrs Langhoff reported in good condition at St Luke's Cedar Rapids. Another bull seriously injured. Wolrab hopes to save it.

Rotating Toms Raises Fertility At Iowa State
L. T. Smith told the Saturday turkey day crowd at Iowa State University that rotating toms between hen flocks increased fertility and egg production versus permanent pens. Temperature differences of 34 to 56 degrees caused little change in egg production hatchability or fertility. Lighting equal to a 14 hour day boosted early production, while starting with a 10 hour day delayed onset. Both groups peaked near the same final production level.

Steer Killed on Road Near Stanwood
Three 400 pound steers wandered from the James Smith farm onto highway 30 near Stanwood Friday night. One steer was struck by a truck and later by an automobile.
