Nation reports record turkey crop of 20 million birds
The federal Bureau of Agricultural Economics said the 1934 national turkey crop reached about 20 million birds, a record up from 15 million last year. The drought reduced weights, though demand should rise as meat supplies tighten, with north central and south central states showing the largest gains. Egg production appears steady with more pullets maturing early despite high feed costs.
