FBI probes tampering at Duane Arnold energy plant
The FBI is investigating possible tampering with a circuit breaker at the Duane Arnold Energy Center near Palo Iowa. IE officials say the breaker was damaged but not part of the safety system with no danger to the public. plant restart could extend beyond six to eight weeks.

Linn County Court Finds Two Drunken Driving Defendants Guilty
Michael L. Woodruff of Solon found guilty of drunken driving from a May 30 arrest. He received a $500 fine a 30 day suspended sentence and probation. Jeffrey W. Lutes of Waterloo connected with an October 12 1987 arrest was fined $500 given a 30 day suspended sentence and placed on probation.
