Albert C. Kula 64 longtime Prairieburg resident died in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a brief illness. Survived by wife Mary three sons Ernest Stanley Albert Lee all of Prairieburg 12 grandchildren mother Mrs Barbara Kula and brother Frank of Cedar Rapids. Body at McNamara funeral home in Anamosa.
DES MOINES AP The house agriculture committee on Friday sought a conference with Secretary Benson to back a price floor for choice cattle to restore confidence among cattlemen. The request followed Benson’s note that such a program would require administrative actions of great magnitude. The committee plans a Cheyenne meeting on Nov 1 and will tour the West to gauge farmer views amid declining prices and future farm programs.
Police hunt for burglars who stole 37 fur coats worth 4500 from a station wagon parked near Cedar Falls High School during a football game. Charles Braley of Waterloo owned the coats and was watching his son play when the theft occurred. Thieves forced a wing window, loaded mouton and mink coats into their car, then fled.
A Waterloo truck driver, Thomas Bell Jr. 27, died after his truck collided with another on an Illinois highway near Sterling. Bell, who was transporting a load of tractors to New Unity Ohio, worked for Richardson Moving Company of Waterloo.

Springfield based report notes Bonnie Heady, accused kidnap murderess, described as fond of children. Ed ward Bracy, dog trainer who cared for three boxers in 1952, recalls Heady's mild demeanor when sober and heavy drinking when intoxicated. He quit due to fear of losing other accounts. Bracy operated a Rochester kennel and last saw Heady driving dogs to shows in a station wagon.
Bracy said he displayed Mrs. Heady's dogs at Mason City Waterloo Cedar Rapids and Sioux City as part of his testimony regarding the case surrounding the death of little Bobby Greenlease.
Iowa State College psychologist Dr Evans will attend the National Association for Mental Health meeting in Cleveland with 300 other associations from Oct 31 for a three day session. The theme Mental Health Everybody’s Business will feature clergy industry law enforcement public health and parent teacher representatives.
