Russia strengthens positions in Bessarabia border area
Reports say Russian forces are concentrating on the left flank of Germany’s occupation in Romania and expanding bases. Civilians are said moved from Cernauti to clear space for troops, with naval units at Leova and monitors sinking Romanian boats at Chilia. Long range guns are mounted at the Danube Prut junction and seven air bases are under construction in former Bessarabia as squadrons rush to new fields.
