Alumni return to Cornell college for the sixty first homecoming weekend with events starting Friday evening at King Memorial chapel and Ash park bonfire. Activities include a play by the dramatic art department, Saturday football and cross country against Coe college, a band parade and float prizes funded by Roy Bowman, halftime queen presentation, an alumni faculty mixer, and a Saturday night formal dance with a second performance of the homecoming play.

Gala Spook Day Parade Set for West Union
Ghosts and goblins from West Union and nearby areas plan a full day for October 27. A 2 p.m. parade will feature bands from nearby towns and costumed residents, with floats judged by student participation and theme artistry. sponsors include Junior Federated club and several women’s clubs. Three Anamosa Youths Injured in Prairieburg Road Crash
Three Anamosa youths were injured in an auto crash on the Prairieburg road about 11 a.m. Saturday. Miles Truesdell, 19, driver, and Thomas Walker, 19, were treated and released from Anamosa hospital. Robert Holub, 21, with a back injury, remained under observation. Authorities said the vehicle lost control on loose gravel, rolled over several times into a ditch.

Strawberry Point Library Reopened After Remodel
Strawberry Point’s library reopened in city hall with a new 12 by 18 foot annex and expanded space. The $5,000 renovation added a new floor drop ceiling lighting oak shelves and furnishings while keeping 3,862 volumes and a 12,792 annual turnover.
