Three men Edmond Dow, William Snyder, and Charles W Lombard were arrested near Dr Charles Lombard’s Redlands home on charges of attempted extortion after a plot to kidnap Clarence White and the physician was thwarted. Authorities traced a letter offering $1000 for floor plans and recovered ropes sheets and coats from the suspects’ car.
Nine year old Billy Tressler, after being beaten in the killings of his mother, grandmother, and sister, answered police questions from his hospital bed. Three men Clyde Harden, 28 Billy’s uncle, Philip Renda, 50, and George Lohr, 30, are under arrest.
