Marion police union case tests probing internal investigations
James Weitenhagen testified that the city cannot probe his official union activities unless a crime is involved, citing the Iowa public employment relations statute. The case reviews discipline for allegedly dodging questions in a security services dispute at the Marion Fair in the Square in July 1981, involving union leaders DeLaMater and Weitenhagen.
