Pregnancy motive argued in Marion slaying trial
In Cedar Rapids defense seeks to exclude Hoffmans pregnancy from evidence in the first degree murder case of McKinley Louisma 23 of Hiawatha. Prosecutors say pregnancy shows motive for killing Melody Hoffman 20 and note Louisma was involved with another woman. Trial date set with jury selection October 31 and testimony starting November 4.
