A Milwaukee passenger train derailed near Guttenberg Iowa plunging into a creek bed. Four are dead and eighteen injured as relief crews work to repair track and trestle. Victims include Mr and Mrs Ruprecht of Dubuque and several Buena Vista and Dubuque residents.

Eyewitness H A Ahlers described a Milwaukee railroad wreck near Guttenberg Iowa where an engine reared and tumbled, the engineer killed, the fireman burned, and several passengers, including five unharmed children walking toward town to attend school.
Paris reports Albert Sarraut resigns as interior minister after criticism over the assassination of King Alexander. The move comes Thursday night as political pressure mounts.
At the 54th AFL convention in San Francisco the federation unanimously approved an industrial union plan for automotive, cement, and aluminum. The executive council may extend this plan to other mass production industries. John L. Lewis and Francis J. Government circles praised Yugoslav police for rescuing an Italian consular official in Ljubljana.
