Branstad backs ISU leaders over airplane controversy
Gov. Terry Branstad defended all three state university leaders during a Monday briefing while saying ISU president Steven Leath is not getting a pass amid criticism of using the university Cirrus SR22. Leath reimbursed 4637 for personal and university travel and donated 15000 to the ISU Foundation for repairs as a board reviews travel policies amid a 1.1 billion fundraising push. Branstad noted his support but said the mistake remains. Also, disaster proclamations were issued for Clayton and Winneshiek counties as flooding increases state aid eligibility to 25 counties.
