Generosity at the Right Time in a Bridge Slam
Bobby Wolff analyzes a bridge slam where declarer must time club plays and trumping to avoid two losers. With a normal trump break the slam succeeds only if clubs are 3-3 or the defender with the third trump also holds clubs. Declarer counterplays by preventing removal of dummy’s last trump and ruffing clubs to restrict the defense to a single trick.
