Stamps and bikes mark a British postal centenary
Popular British bicycles headline a British Post Office stamp issue honoring 100 years of cycling bodies. The set shows an ordinary bicycle, a 1920 tourer, a modern small wheel, and a road racer, all bearing Cycling 1878-1978. The Post Office uses bikes for mail delivery and fitness. Also featured are youth albums from Stanley Gibbons, first-day covers from the International Stamp Collectors Society, and plans for a future Iolani Palace postal card in the Historic Preservation Series.
