King’s Daughters and Sons Conclude Cedar Rapids Convention

The Iowa branch of the King's Daughters and Sons plans its forty-fourth annual convention in Cedar Rapids with nearly 700 women attending sessions at the Roosevelt hotel and Westminster church. International president Mrs. M. W. Leibert of New York will speak at the opening banquet and lead key events. Mrs. Ida W. Mansfield of Burlington serves as state president.

A bridal dinner at Mrs Wurster s tea room honored Miss Harriette Struve and Donald S McCulloch who will wed at the Second Christian church this afternoon at 3. Guests included Genevieve McCulloch Betty Jacus and Mrs C W Mason with attendants and ushers. A separate shower was given at the Second Christian church for Miss Struve with 50 church women attending.

Vernon Heights Reading Club Meets Thursday

Lois Veta Hawks and Arthur Van dall Swanson marry in candlelit ceremony at St Pauls Methodist church. The bride wore royal blue velvet and pink tea roses. reception at the Hawks home followed. Cedar Rapids Women Husk Corn For Golden Jubilee Fund

Six Cedar Rapids Women’s club members husked corn at Mrs. L. E. MacLaughlin’s farm near North Liberty to start a local contribution for the Golden Jubilee General Federation of Women’s Clubs. The first bushel was donated by Mrs. MacLaughlin and displayed at the club house.
