Unemployment Drops to 6.9 Percent in September

UPI reports unemployment fell to 6.9 percent in September from August, with gains for Black workers and a 320,000 rise in total job holders to 91.1 million. Black unemployment dropped to 13.1 percent while teen and women rates show little change, and manufacturing added only modest gains. Iowa also saw a September jobless rate of 2.8 percent, with 29,900 unemployed, a large monthly drop and gains in retail, services, and government.
