Health insurance gaps rise as nonstandard work grows
A study by the Iowa Policy Project finds expanded nonstandard employment eroding access to employer provided health coverage. It notes that part time and contract workers are less likely to receive coverage and more prone to job instability, while discounts cards are mistaken for insurance. The report, funded by a 335000 grant, urges policy makers to reassess data on nonstandard jobs and coverage.
