Pilot Bailout From Demon Jet Crashes Near Carrollton Field
Mills bailed out from a McDonnell Demon jet during a test flight at 9 15 a m. The craft landed in a field five miles east of Carrollton DL near St Louis and continued flying with no sighting by the chase plane. The jet had about an hour of fuel left when the bailout occurred.
