A gang that robbed hotels and targeted wealthy women was captured in New York. Police recovered about $75,000 in diamonds rubies and emeralds and arrested ten men including Stephen Bayer and William Ostrov. Mrs Loew and Mrs Gilmore identified suspects in lineups as police linked the cases.

Other actions urged separation of the Farm Bureau from extension services and repeal of the county assessor law. Ralph W. Henry H. Rathbun sixty of New Hartford New York president of the Dairy mens League Cooperative Association was found dead in his hotel room in Des Moines Iowa. Polk County Coroner A E Shaw said Rathbun apparently died of a heart attack. He had come to help organize an Iowa farm committee for Dewey and Warren and planned to return home that night.
