Cedar Rapids Kennedy coach Mark Onstott tapped Chip Pickett to strengthen the 100 breaststroke and 50 free. Pickett won both events as Kennedy beat C.R. Denver coach Says Athletics Are Business First
University of Denver basketball coach Ben Jobe argues games are about winning or money. He criticizes Illinois for low pay and explains scheduling top teams for big guarantees, citing a total of 19000 from two games and a Las Vegas offer he rejected. He calls the practice of big schools buying favorable schedules as a form of prostitution to boost NCAA chances. He recalls Al McGuire's scheduling tactics and advocates larger schools sharing guarantees with smaller programs.
