Davenport Iowa. District Judge Margaret Briles ruled that Bart Klindt should receive $103000 from a life insurance policy on his mother, murdered by his father. The ruling comes after the father was convicted of the crime.
The Scott County Clerk of Court was ordered to release policy proceeds to Bart Klindt's court appointed guardian John Hellstrom. Bart claimed May entitlement to the money from an Aid Association for Lutherans policy. Prosecutors alleged his father James Klindt murdered Bart's mother Joyce in November 1984.
A California man, Guy L. Decker, 32, died after his car plunged into the Mississippi River near Davenport. Witness Jim Murray, 21, attempting a rescue, grabbed Decker but was pulled under and forced to swim to shore. Decker’s body remained missing as authorities searched the river.
