Iowa City School District adjusts facilities plan timeline
The Iowa City Community School District revises the 10 year $258 million facilities plan ahead of a final vote. Proposed changes include opening a north elementary in fall 2019, finishing Lincoln Elementary upgrades in 2019, and moving students from Lincoln and Mann to a new east side school for one year. A 2017 bond up to 120 million may fund projects. Hoover Elementary closes in 2019 drawing opposition from parents.
