Teff Trials Grow in Wheat Country Near Nicodemus
Kansas farmers Gary and Gil Alexander plant teff, an Ethiopian grain, in Nicodemus with a grant from the Agriculture Department. The crop shows drought tolerance and potential niche value, though major expansion is unlikely in this wheat country. The project draws on ties to the Exoduster history and the town is a National Historic Park site.
