Italian Extradition of Hijacker Ruled Out

Rome says it will not extradite Raphael Minichiello to the United States where he could face the death penalty. Italy bans capital punishment and abides by a European convention against extraditing those who may be executed abroad. Minichiello, a 20 year old Marine lance corporal, was indicted in Brooklyn on hijacking, but is imprisoned in Rome after being captured November 1 following a TWA jetliner hijacking from California to Italy.

Bjornsens Out Of Mobile Home Injunction Case

A legal move removed the Bjornsens from the suit over a mobile home court injunction. Plaintiffs sought bond increase from $1,000 to $200,000 claiming daily losses, but dismissal left the Bjornsens without standing. The injunction blocks development north of Blairs Ferry road and Suburban street. They may be rejoined if ownership interest is restored.
