Flesh-eating bacteria claims loom over Iowa City nurse
Iowa City nurse Rhonda Muhlenbruch fell on February 25 and suffered severe injuries from a curb strike on her right elbow. Her condition rapidly deteriorated with blood pressure dropping to 50 over 30 and heart rate rising to 200 as organs shut down and skin darkened. By February 27 the pain intensified with vomiting and collapsing veins, with doctors in the ER racing to determine the cause.
