The Santa Claus parade in Cedar Rapids on Friday November 27 features the Three Wise Men with a live camel and a half mile route. Santa Mary Christmas queen and eleven attendants will join more than fifty floats bands drum corps clowns and toyland characters. The night festival includes full holiday lighting and the Cedar Rapids Automobile Show opening at Memorial Coliseum.

Cedar Rapids and 31 nearby communities joined a national telephone hookup celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Telephone Pioneers. The event linked 164 cities and involved 25 000 miles of toll wires with 40 000 listeners. Walter S. Gifford of AT&T spoke as the March of Time dramatized telephone history. A transatlantic line linked NY York and Lonon with engineers who first spoke across the ocean twenty years ago. Local dinner was held at the Wurster room with L. W. Walrath and Fred Campagna organizing.

City to Put Legion Center Plan to Voters Soon

Prune Nut Cheese Pie With Gelatin Mold Sauce

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water then mix with prunes broken nuts lemon juice and salt. Chill until firm then mold and serve with sauce. Prepare a sugar flour salt blend boil two minutes cool and chill for a pudding sauce. For pumpkin pie add grated cheese to crust and reduce fat by three tablespoons.
