State covers Marquette well repair costs
Marquette will receive 13 079 dollars from the state to fix the city well after a temporary water outage caused by magnesium and calcium deposit blockage. An Imminent Threat Grant approved this week funds October repairs, with City Clerk Freda McCracken noting residents are relieved as the system operates. The city plans a HUD grant this spring to upgrade water services and has asked IDOT for permission to use a railroad property well slated for purchase.
