McGregor Farmer Sues U.S. Trial Set in Dubuque
Frank Davies of McGregor sues the U.S. government seeking $1,000 plus removal of a $500 penalty for alleged soil bank act violation. He harvested corn on 34 acres in Clayton county in 1957 that he says was owned by his son and not in the soil bank. The trial is scheduled for December 2 in federal court at Dubuque.

Andrew Boy Injured In Hunting Accident
Andrew Russell Hayward Jr., 13, of Andrew, is in serious condition at a local hospital after a hunting accident Tuesday. He was alone when his 410 shotgun discharged while climbing a fence, striking him in the chest. He was found on the Don Krabbenhoft farm.
