Hunters find good luck as duck and turkey seasons open
Ducks and geese report strong early activity with ample water across Iowa. Turkey hunters in the first fall gun season did quite well, with bow season opening soon and many hunters in forest areas. Pheasants vary by area, mud and standing corn hinder early hunting, while squirrels offer abundant opportunities as leaves fall and temps stay mild.
