Four Washington High VICA students attend Des Moines workshop

Four members of Washington high school's trade and industrial education class joined a leadership conference in Des Moines on Friday. The students Mike Golem biewski Don Collins Patricia Hutchins and Kris Keller were to be accompanied by staff member Duane Popenhagen. They belong to a newly organized local chapter of the Iowa Association of the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America. The class has 21 students working part time in 12 occupational areas.

Grenalda the Pig Crowned Homecoming Queen at WWSC

A 350-pound pig named Grenalda was elected homecoming queen at Western Washington State College in Bellingham. The pig was sponsored by the college rugby club and celebrated as a campus mascot.
