The daily weather and related figures show a major snow event forecast for central and eastern Iowa with up to six inches or more. Northerly winds 20 to 30 mph will cause drifting snow with diminishing snow by Friday and highs in the 20s.

Robert Randall of 1122 Twelfth St NE Cedar Rapids died at his home on Thursday. A retired sheet metal worker native to Dodgeville Wisconsin, he was born February 10 1888 and married January 10 1908.
Neal W. Bedford of Cedar Rapids, son of Mary B. Bedford and a member of Kenwood Presbyterian Church and the Moose, died. Survived by two sisters and a brother. Funeral 1:30 Saturday. Burial at Mt. Clark cemetery in Central City.

Sigourney resident Frank Rielly, 82, died of injuries from a morning two car crash on highway 22, a mile west of Keswick. Andrew Armstrong, 32, of What Cheer, driven the other car and was not seriously injured. Rielly is survived by two daughters Theresa Rielly and Mary Alice Wittetoe. Funeral services are set for Saturday at St. Marys Catholic Church with burial in Armah Cemetery. Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 8:00 p.m.
Joseph A. Marshek of Cedar Rapids was re elected Wednesday as president of the Cedar Rapids Coin Club. Other officers named were Joseph C. Schindler as vice president and Leo R. Sears as secretary treasurer. Board members include Ralph E. Wilson of Atkins and Vearl F. Brumwell of Solon.

Albert L Swearingen Jr 18 of 2316 Coldstream Ave NE was sentenced Oct 28 for larceny of a motor vehicle after taking a car from Handler Motor Co on Oct 6 and abandoning it in Indiana.
Sheriff James Smith president of the National Jail Assn returns from Nashville where he presided at a four day forum the second in a trio during his term. He announced a debt titled The National Jail Forum to be distributed a month prior to each meeting and noted a Nashville magazine first copy with his message.

Survived by wife who is pregnant, his parents, two sisters, and a sister in Muscatine. Services set for Saturday at St Mary's Nichols with Friday rosary. Military burial at St Mary's cemetery. Nichols lies in western Muscatine County.
