Water use dips in October despite new homes in Marion
Marion water figures show total pumped water at 1,015,000 gallons in October, about September levels, due to hydrant flushing and tower filling. Superintendent Jack Fairly cited no clear reason for lower residential and commercial use. The board approved Forest Hills Addition mains and several new subdivisions, discussed easements, agreed to demolish the old Well No 1 brick plant, planned sale of surplus items, extended umbrella insurance, and welcomed Dave Kalfwarf as adviser for continuing education in water treatment.
