White Cross designs new hospital room endowment
The White Cross society plans to endow a St Luke's hospital room for children of deserving parents as its new project. Proceeds from the 1939 Christmas ball at Cedar Rapids Country Club will fund the endowment, following the society’s 1938 endowment for self supported working girls.

Ralph Hertges aged 18 from near Ossian pled guilty to breaking and entering in Allamakee county district court. He received up to ten years at the Anamosa State Reformatory and was escorted there by Sheriff John King.
