Food stamp cuts hit Linn County Iowans start today
Public assistance changes under Reagan administration reduce food stamp aid for Linn County households. About 30 of 17 085 households will lose benefits this month with others facing smaller allotments. New rules use gross income before expenses to determine eligibility, limit multiple allocations, and cut work expense deductions.
