Sandfort returns to Iowa basketball as senior leader
Payton Sandfort, a 6 7 senior to be from Waukee, confirmed his return to the Iowa men’s basketball team just before the NBA draft deadline. The All-Big Ten wing averaged 16.4 points and 3 pointers last season and led the Hawkeyes with team highs in scoring while contributing a triple double in February. He joins a lineup anchored by Owen Freeman and Josh Dix with Pryce Sandfort, Bryce Harding, and Ladyi Dembele returning as key rotation. He hoped to provide perimeter shooting, rebounding, and leadership for a team aiming to elevate from good to great.
