Those Were the Days theater set at senior center

SSRO presents Those Were the Days a reader's theater event for Older Americans Month with skits poems jokes and a singalong at the Johnson County Senior Center Iowa City. Also Summer Bash at Brown Deer Place offers games crafts shaved ice and balloon clown from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. A 23 mile Wednesday Night Social Ride begins 6 to 8 p.m. at Solon High School. Weber Days Little Village Big Progress at Iowa City Public Library 7 to 9 p.m. honors Irving B. Weber.

Alliant Energy Foundation awards grants to 21 area nonprofits

The Linn County awards totaling over 75000 include Willis Dady Emergency Shelter and Junior Achievement among recipients. Other grant winners span Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, and Marion with funds supporting shelter, education, rental aid, backpacks, and refugee services as part of 183 grants totaling over 475000 in this cycle.
